Investment Philosophy

SICO adopts the bottom up approach to investing with an emphasis on stock picking rather than making country calls. Instead of indexing the portfolio to a benchmark, the Investment Manager's aim is to invest in fundamentally sound stocks that are trading below their intrinsic values. This provides the Investment Manager with additional flexibility to build exposure in sound companies, regardless of their weight in the benchmark.

Investment Process

The investment process is research-driven whereby all investment decisions are made in light of detailed and in-depth company research and analysis. The portfolio managers and analysts rely mainly on proprietary research to make investment decisions. Over the years, a strong network with senior managements of many companies has been developed that assists SICO in implementing the Investment Process. The network also includes long standing relationships with intermediaries within the GCC markets, which aids in obtaining technical expertise in the respective markets.
